Now that's justice

http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=ap-uswomenscoach&prov=ap&type=lgns

My take: Sunil obviously doesn't want to point the deciding factor of the release but since this is Ryan's only loss, I think we all can guess why the move was made. Hoefully if this keeps Solo on the team, the girls will finally tell her she had every right to be angry. If they don't then they don't deserve to be in soccer.

Hey Giancarlo. It was nice to see you again today, thought i didn't actually say hi. =]
I was one of the coaches in the Newark match, and that was my brother that got the yellow card for Newark.

I just wanted to get your insight on the match, specifically on the card.
I actually missed the foul, and only saw the card, so I wanted to know what happened as even my brother was confuse, and he refs too. =]

On another note, my dad came up to me and tried to BS some stuff about you coaching the other team on the field when you crouched down to check on the Ballistic player tying his shoe... What was going on there as well?

Well, thanks for an awesome match, and unfortunately my boys woke up too late in this tournament.
(The other funny thing is I was hanging out with Christine Walden yesterday in Fremont at the Referee and Assessor workshop). =]
I'll see you around.
-Jose

Hi Jose,

Well your boys sure put up an impressive battle there. Your brother actually fell in a couple categories for me to choose from. One, he did a majority of the fouling and was under my radar for that by half time, so a PI was in order. Two it was a reckless challenge and a second one that caused an injury but the one he got my card, I put under UB for the reckless challenge, rather then a PI.

When I crouched down to the other player, it was to have a quiet word for his outburst after he was fouled because he said, "Second time." So I went to get some info in regards to his outburst which he mumbled to a point his complaint wasn't solid enough. Also at the time, it was only the 2nd foul of the game against them so I wasn't too concerned.

Also if your dad was paying attention, he would have noted that I did caution him later in the match after he kicked the ball away when he was called offside.

On a side note, did you catch Walden's pre-mature offside flag, but I held off blowing the whistle to make sure she meant it and she withdrew he flag when she realized what happened? It was deja vu for me except I was in Walden's spot and it was called and a goal was denied and I had a rope separating me and a bunch of drunk fans. :-)

Ok, thanks for the clear up on things.
That's most of what i figured happened, and told my dad and bro the same. I was thinking it was for PI though.

I did catch Walden's flag and recall thinking "WTF? Come on Christine..."
She later told me she was still half asleep too and barely remembered the game.

So how is the injury recovery coming along? I saw you jog and run a few times during the match. =]

Injury is recovering slowly but I'm too the point where I can take the field as you saw. I will be doing the fun run tomorrow in Livermore, much to a few people's surprise. I haven't truely told everyone I'm back in the game. Might have to do a mid-year upgrade to maintain my 5, barring some miricle I can get assessed before the end of the year.

Yea, seriously.
Good luck getting an assessment.
I'll be sending in my paperwork for my 7 upgrade soon enough.
The only requisite missing is that I be 17, which happens on Jan. 5. =]

I hope you recover well soon.
I'd enjoy watching you on a D1 mens' match. =]
