Laptop on crack held hostage

If I ever want to see it healthy again I need to be prepared to pay the max of 449.00 and that is if they don't have to go through Toshiba. I asked what it would cost. They said they didn't know, but for 40 bucks diagnostic fee, they can find out how much it is going to break me should I decide not to go through with it. Well I made some phone calls and turns out the part is 469.00. This is without the labor charge. If I have these guys do it, then I'm looking at 80 bucks in labor. For an extra two hundred I can get the upgrades and warranty. Kind of a touch decision because I really liked my laptop before it went on crack. Going to try another place and see if I can get a better deal.
